Senior Merchandise Systems Engineer

Job Summary As Senior Merchandise Systems Engineer you will be responsible for supporting applications & strategic initiatives within our Merchandise Planning & Inventory Planning systems and processes team.
Responsible for requirements definition, quality assurance testing, best practice development and the monitoring of all system installations, including configurations and root-cause analysis for the Global Product Creation Group.
Responsibilities Project Initiation and Definition Leads projects working with teams of Merchandise Planners, Technical Partners and Business Leaders to guide a prioritized development schedule, based on a complete and comprehensive understanding of our priorities Understanding our requirements and being able to translate them into clear and precise product specifications/features/capabilities to ensure engineering development Solution Engineering Provide project guidance and accountability to a team of engineers for new and existing retail application configurations Drive the functional & technical requirements and procurement process for new systems development Creating effective and maintainable system configurations, decision trees and workflows to meet goals.
Data and Workflow engineering Design automated workflow and decision trees using tools such as VBA, Python or equivalent scripting languages Perform data pipeline, data cleansing and sql code reviews of other team members Create and validate ETL processes to create engineered data sets using a variety of tools and techniques Visualization and Communication Create executive summary slides to support business recommendations Communicate progress and updates with project partners and our teams Sustainment and Problem Solving Troubleshoot, diagnose and develop root cause analysis in the data pipeline, configuration and packaged retail applications Communicate with users and other partners to understand issues, update status, and maintain compliance Manage a queue of enhancements, inquiries and issues Application Configuration Manage system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance Ability to manage risk by identifying potential issues and integrating solutions to stay on budget and timeline Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures Standardize and automate processes and monitoring using scripting technology Design workflows and tools to improve efficiency in the business Qualifications 5
years' experience in retail system administration, configuration and technology implementation experience in retail applications and tools with heavy emphasis on install, configuration, quality assurance, patching and tuning Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and teams (both small and large, technical and non-technical)Translate business/user requirements into product specifications with depth and clarity to lead engineering development Explain/defend decisions around product enhancements, development prioritization, technology choices.
Troubleshoot and develop root cause analysis Technical proficiency in three or more data technology subject areas:
Commercial Retail Planning Systems Configuration and Administration such as Oracle Retail, Island Pacific Data pipeline technologies and ETL tools and languages such as SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep Database and Workflow technologies such as Snowflake, SQL Server, MS Access Data Visualization and Consumption Tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, Business Objects Development tools such MS SharePoint, MS Excel, MS Access, VBA Direct experience with software development - JavaScript, Java, SQL, Python, VBA or other data scripting languages desirable Experience working with different project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum) is desirable Experience working with Cloud technologies desirable Education BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or related fields; MBA preferred or equivalent work experience Additional Information:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
